ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
Duties include:
• Correspond with home building supply companies, churches and other businesses; requesting material and financial donations. Address and affix postage to envelopes
• Update "Mailing List" using newly acquired business cards
• Pick up and drop off mail at local Post Office
• Answer telephone and take phone messages if employee is unavailable
• Filing/Copying
• Managing Office Supplies
• Work with staff to review and update policies/procedures/handbooks
• Manage list of acceptable donations
BACK UP DRIVER
Be a backup driver of our commercial Box Truck (just like a Wonder Bread truck!)
• We currently have 1 driver that can drive but we would like to add more people to our team
• You must have a valid NC Drivers License
• Our truck is insured, but you must have your own auto insurance
BOARD MEMBER
Responsibilities to include:
• Attend monthly board meetings. Meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. on the last Monday of every month to discuss and vote on Habitat issues.
• Inform the general public of who we are and what we do; providing them with details of past clients and how Habitat has affected their lives.
• Ask the general public for building material and financial donations.
• Ask the general public to volunteer with us.
• Help out in Re-Store at least once a month. Saturdays are preferred, but Tuesday and Thursday are sometimes available.
• Talk to others in the community about becoming a board member.
• Donate money to our affiliate and encourage the general public to donate money as well
CONSTRUCTION
Volunteers with the following skills are needed:
These volunteers won't be needed until the next build. A date is still yet to be determined.

DRIVER'S ASSISTANT
Duties include:
• Accompany driver and assist with loading donated items
• Assist with unloading donated items at our warehouse
FUNDRAISER
Duties include:
• Meet with Executive Director and Development Director to discuss and plan fundraising activities
• Recruit others to help with fundraising activities
• Carry out fundraisers
• Work with schools, churches, community groups, individuals, businesses, etc. to help raise money Habitat for Humanity
GRANT WRITER
Responsibilities include:
• Research foundations, community groups, and government agencies to determine if grants are available.
• Write and submit grants after receiving approval of Executive Director
• Work with Executive Director on funding needs (examples include: land, building materials, brochures, business cards, advertising, fleet maintenance, promotional items, new staff, and other items that come to our attention).
PUBLIC RELATIONS
Responsibilities include:
• Assist Executive Director by being at local festivals, events, breakfast/lunch/dinners, etc and promoting Granville County Habitat for Humanity
• Field and reply to questions asked by the general public
• Distribute Habitat books, brochures, and other promotional items to interested individuals and the community at large
• Collect business cards from others (to be added to our mailing list)
RESTORE VOLUNTEER
Description
• Price and stock newly donated items
• Assist customers in finding items and answer any questions that they have
• Inform customers that we have carts/dollies to bring their items to the front of the store to purchase
• Assist customers with bringing their items to the front of the store to purchase
• Assist staff/board members/volunteers in the Re-Store
• Reorganize items within the Re-Store
• Ask others in the community to volunteer at the Re-Store
• Process customer payments (cash, check, credit/debit card)
• Store Hours are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
HOSPITALITY FOR CONSTRUCTION VOLUNTEERS
Description
• Set up tables/chairs/tents/tablecloths on job site (We can provide these if you don't have them)
• Provide sandwiches, bottled water, bags of chips, cookies, napkins, paper plates, cups, ice, utensils (provide everything listed above or break up this list between your group and another group [we can help coordinate])
• Break down tables/chairs/tents/tablecloths on job site (throw all trash in dumpster on job site)

• Recycling aluminum cans (Please bring them to us or call if you can't bring them to us)• Recycling printer cartridges and cell phones/cell phone accessories, laptops, PDAs, iPods, DVDs, GPS systems, video games and consoles, and digital cameras (Please bring them to us)
